Beginner's Guide: Your First 10 Hours in Roco Kingdom: World
From picking your starter spirit to clearing the early-game arena — everything a new player needs to know in one read.
Choosing Your Starter Spirit
At the start of the game, you pick one of three starter spirits as your partner: Miaomiao (Grass), Huohua (Fire), or Shuilanlan (Water).
All three starters can evolve to a final form with comparable strength, so go with whichever you like the look of.
Tip: You can catch the other two in the wild later, so don't agonize over the choice.
Early-Game Leveling Path
- Follow the main story quests — they hand out massive amounts of EXP and items as rewards.
- Push your starter to its evolution level early. Stat gains from evolution are huge.
- Claim your daily quest rewards every day. Don't hoard EXP potions — use them.
Resources are tight in the early game. Focus on training 1–2 main spirits, not a whole roster.
How to Capture Spirits
When you encounter a wild spirit you want:
- Bring its HP down to red (~20% or below).
- Throw a Goo-ball that matches the spirit's rarity.
- Higher-tier Goo-balls have better catch rates, but ordinary balls are fine for early-game commons.
Some rare spirits only spawn on specific maps. Check the Pokedex to see where each one appears.
Recommended Early-Game Spirits
- Miaomiao / Miaowu / Molimao (Grass) — Wide skill coverage, reliable main-team pick.
- Huohua / Yanhuo / Huoshen (Fire) — Fast attacker with strong fire-type damage.
- Shuilanlan / Bishuilong / Shengshui Shouhu (Water) — Tanky and consistent, can take hits and dish them.
- Yinsuquan (Fire) — Easy to obtain early, solid physical attacker.
